Oops!

Ayer, por primera vez, no tuve nada de tiempo para escribir mi blog. ¡Como extraño mi celular! Cuando no tenia mucho tiempo, solía mandarlo desde mi telefono.

Pero dejenme contarles que ha pasado con mi vida: Ayer fui al más maravilloso concierto! En compañía de buenas amigas. Y que concierto! Ricardo Arjona, cantante y autor guatemalteco, vino y conquisto a El Salvador una vez más.

Pase, por supuesto, parte del día cocinando para la familia. Osea he pasado cocinando desde el martes. Pero ha sido divertido. Me encanta. He recibido la visita de los primos, amigos, etc. He gozado al máximo estos días porque, como siempre toca, lo bueno se acaba y mañana de regreso al trabajo. La vida buena se ha agotado.

Espero que toda su semana haya estado muy productiva. Para aquellos con vacaciones de semana santa, disfruten sanamente. Y a los que no, pues a trabajar se ha dicho. XO!

Yesterday, for the first time, I had no time to write my blog. How I miss having my cell phone! When I was running out of time I used to blog from there.

But let me give you a quick summary of what's been happening: Yesterday I went to the most amazing concert ever with the best company of a few friends. And what a concert! Ricardo Arjona, a guatemalian singer and compositor came and conquered El Salvador once again.

I also spend my time, cooking for the fam, of course. Meaning I have been cooking since tuesday. But it has been fun. Loved it. I have also received visits from cousins and friends. I have enjoyed this days to the fullest because as everything good in life, this must ends because tomorrow I'm returning back to work. Good life has come to an end.

I hope you had had a very productive week. For those that will have Easter days off, enjoy. For those that will not, well join me to work hard. XO!

Dia de familia/ Family day

Hoy fue dia de pizza y postre. Y que día más cansado pero me siento feliz de haber compartido con toda la familia. Por el momento, no comparto más pues ando muerta!

Today was pizza and dessert. And I'm sooo tired but soo happy to have shared this day with the family. As for right now, I can barely stay awake so I can't share more because I feel so tired!

La primera!/The first!

Hoy estoy cocinando lo imposible.

No miento, así se llama el postre. Espero quede como espero y mañana les cuento que tal. Es un gran proceso. Pero mientras tanto, dejenme contarles que hoy fue mi primera quemadura. Por supuesto que he tenido más a lo largo de mi vida. Pero ninguna cocinando, hasta hoy.

¡Y duele! Metiendo el recipiente al horno, mi mano toco la pared del horno que está a 200° C. se imaginaran el dolor que se siente. Pero espero valga la pena.

Por otro lado, este día tuve un almuerzo con mi hermanito Javier. Al fin después de tanto posponerlo nos pudimos reunir y me encanta ver como cada vez que lo encuentro sus planes van creciendo y como se van acercando a la meta que se ha propuesto. ¡Increible!

Mis vacaciones están por terminar. Estoy a 3 días que estás terminen y el sábado de regreso a trabajar a las 4:30 a.m. Todavía no tengo ni la menor idea de como haré para acostumbrarme a ese horario nuevamente.

También a falta de buenos libros, estoy releyendo algunos que me han encantado. Así que espero terminar el último que escogí antes de volver al trabajo.

Today I'm cooking the impossible.

I'm not lying. That's the name of the cake. I hope it turns out good and I'll tell you tomorrow about it. Long process. But in the mean time let me tell you, today was my first cooking burn. Of course I have had many more in my life but none of them from cooking.

And it hurts! I was getting the dessert into the oven when my hand rubbed the oven's wall which is 200° C. You can imagine the pain. I hope is worth it.

On the other hand, I had a lunch date with my little brother Javier. Finally! After posponed it for a long time. We were able to get together and talked. I love how everytime we met I can see how much he's dreams are getting bigger and coming to reality. Amazing!

My vacations are almost over. I'm three days away from being a slave again and on saturday I'm going back to work at 4:30 a.m. I still have no idea how to get used to that schedule after being so lazy and waking up so late.

Also, because I'm lacking books, I'm reading again the books I like the most from my private library. So I hope to finish my last book by the time I go back to work.

De regreso!/I'm back!

Terrible que ayer no hubo internet a causa de truenos y relampagos de una lluvia que no paso.

Por eso mi fiel prima Kaya, tuvo la bondad de postearles que no habría entrada por tales motivos. Y en vista que no tengo mi celular con servcio de internet activos, estoy frita. 

Pues bueno, les cuento que ayer en particular fue un día muy productivo. Me encantó. Terminé de leer "La suma de los días" de Isabel Allende, que para quienes lo han leído, sabrán a que me refiero con <<me lleno el pozo de la imaginación>>. A partir de eso me anime a hacer un deliciso pan de ajo con especias y queso mozarella. Si alguien quiere la receta sientase libre de pedirla por medio de un mensaje.

Me visitó la pequeña Kaya, por supuesto, y juntas fuimos por un postre en la noche, a pornernos al día con las situaciones familiares...ya saben, habladuría de chicas. Regresamos a casa y como si cocinar una cosa no fuera suficiente, hice desayuno para la cena: Huevos benedictinos sobre el pan que horneé previamente y papas salteadas. También, quién quiera la receta me la puede pedir por mensaje.

 

He recibido el visto bueno de la familia. Su aprobación. Y ahora andan bromeando y diciendo que estoy lista para casarme. ¡Qué chiste! El día continuo esperando esa bendita lluvia que con tanta algarabía el cielo anunciaba, y que no llego nunca. Estoy sentada esperando.

Ahora lunes, por supuesto, fue igual. Muchas compras al super mercado pues el miércoles consiento a los pollos y buena parte de la familia con pizza vegetariana y un pastel delicioso llamado "El imposible". Clases, tiempo a solas, compras. Eso a sido mi lunes.

How terrible I had no internet service yesterday because of lightning from a storm that never happened.

That's why my always faithful cousin Kaya posted yesterday that there wouldn't be any entry for such problems. Given that I'm still with no internet service on my phone. Bad timing.

But anyway, let me tell you that yesterday was quite a productive day. I loved it. I finished reading "The sum of our days" by Isabel Allende, that for those that have read it, can understand what I mean by saying that <<I filled the well of imagination>>. From that, I got up and made this delicious garlic and spices bread with mozzarella cheese. If someone wants the recipe, feel free to send me a message.

I got a  visit from my little cousin Kaya, and we went for some dessert together to catch up with all the family news...you know, girls stuff. We came back home and as if cooking one thing during the day was not enough, I decided to make breakfast for dinner: eggs benedict with the bread I baked and sauteed potatoes. Also, for the recipe, same proccess: Send a message!

 

I have received only compliments from the family, thanks God, and all of them are still alive! So know they are joking around that now I'm ready to get marry! How funny! The day continued as I was still waiting for that rain that never came and that the sky itself announced with such a lighting party. I'm still sitting here, waiting.

Now monday, was pretty much the same. A lots of super market shopping because I'm pampering the family on wednesday with some veggy and shimp pizza and a cake called "El imposible" or "The impossible" in englisg. Classes, alone time, shopping. That's my monday so far.

FAIL

Hoy no habrá entrada porque estoy sin internet y mi prima posteo esto para no perder el hilo de postear todos los días.

Croque Monsieur

Hoy fue día de cocinar! Y de la nada, se me antojó aprender a hacer algo que no había hecho nunca, pero que vi en una película y me pareció delicioso.

Croque Monsieur.

Ese emparedado francés famoso, tan fácil de hacer y que puede llegar a ser o bien un aperitivo o una comida completa con una ensalada. Básicamente, un emparedado de  jamón y queso a la plancha. Yo usoejamón de ternera y queso mozarrella, aunque la receta original es con jamón York y queso Emmental, pero cualquier queso que se derrita se puede utilizar. También se agrega salsa bechamel, que básicamente se aplica a la porción de pan base del emparedado y luego procedes a formarlo. Yo primero lo hice a la plancha y luego agregue queso encima y lo puso al horno hasta que quedo doradito y crujiente. Una gran opción para los amantes del queso. Como yo.

La verdad, me quedo rico.

Y como lo prometido es deuda, ayer fui a ver "Los juegos del hambre" que está 100% recomendable. Muy apegada al libro. Lo suficiente para que todos entienda, y para satisfacer a los que hemos leído el libro. No me aburrió, dura el tiempo exacto para ser interesante sin aburrir. Y los actores, realmente al clavo.

Today was cooking day! And out of nowhere, I craved something that I never done before but I saw on a movie and that I had to learn to do from scratch, something really delicious.

Croque Monsieur.

That famous french sandwich, so easy to do and that can become either a quick snack or a complete meal with a salad. Basically a ham and grilled cheese sandwich. I use veal ham and mozarrella cheese, although the original recipe is with York ham and emmental cheese, any cheese that melt can be used. You also use bechamel sauce, which basically you apply to the base slice of the sandwich and the proceded to form it. You can add cheese on top and put it in the over until is golden and crispy. Really easy and really tasty. Great option for the cheese lovers. Like me.

Honestly, it turns out really good.

And as promised, yesterday I watched "The hunger games" which I totally recommend. Remained true to the book. Enough for everyone to understand and enough to satisfied those who have read the book. Was not boring, it's the right length. And the actors, truly the best for each character.

Demasiad/ Too much

Hoy me siento muy agotada, física y emocionalmente. Ni mis libros me levantan.

Sin embargo, que pases un buen fin de semana. Mañana les comento que tal "Los juegos del hambre" pues hasta ahora la iré a ver... XO!

Today, I feel physically and emotionally exhausted,  no even my books are getting me on a good mood.

Nevertheless, I wish to all of you a great weekend full of fun and healthy stuff. Tomorrow I let you know what I think of "The hunger games" because I'm supposed to go and watch it tonigh...XO!
